Meta Quest: Black Screen Troubleshooting

What to do if your Meta Quest headset shows a black screen. STEP 1: FORCE RESTART - Hold the power button for 10 seconds to force restart the headset. STEP 2: CHARGE - Connect the headset to power and let it charge for at least 30 minutes before trying again. STEP 3: CHECK THE PROXIMITY SENSOR - Remove the facial interface and check that nothing is blocking the proximity sensor near the lenses. - The headset screen turns off when the proximity sensor is covered. STEP 4: FACTORY RESET - If the screen is still black, try a factory reset: 1. Power off the headset. 2. Hold power + volume down until the headset turns on. 3. Use volume buttons to highlight "Factory Reset." 4. Press the power button to select and confirm. STEP 5: CONTACT SUPPORT - If the screen is still black after a factory reset, the issue is likely hardware-related.
